Busy, Busy, Busy

A Perfect Day

It has been one busy week. The weather has been almost perfect. It is one of those weeks that you want to accomplish everything all at once. So I find myself flitting from one thing to another. I have a little ADHD, or maybe a lot. It is like, do I water this plant, or do I fertilize or maybe I already had. I move around the garden not really completing anything, but I surely have a lot started.

Then I made five trips to the nursery. A couple of the trips was with a couple friends, and of course I can not leave without a plant or two. I love walking around a nursery.  I purchased five Holmstrup Arborvitae to replace some over grown ones. We have been in our home 22 years, so it is time to relook at our landscape. I got 2 Penstemons, a hardy geranium and a couple tomato plants.

Then, I received a phone call from Kathleen Phipps from WBGU broadcasting, saying they wanted to feature our Children's Garden on television the end of June. It is like having company, you have to get ready. This is exciting to get this exposer.

Ruth Ann Covey is heading up the garden this year, so I gave her a quick call, also our Parks Director, Sue Heppeard. We shifted our gears and all have stepped up to meet the challenge.
It is an incentive to get projects done that were much needed. The parks department has also given special assistance to meet our target. The gardens are looking great, and with a month to grow, they should be strutting their stuff.

Jim Covey, a community volunteer, put the icing on the cake with a fresh mowing of the park. We appreciate you, the Master Gardeners, and all the volunteers from the community.  It takes everyone working together to make this garden a place for all of us to enjoy.

Come, enjoy the garden. It is a  great place for a picnic, relaxation, read a book. or just take time to smell the roses.

See you in the garden.
